This is a recolor of a Stahlhelm papercraft I hope to get out by the end of this week. To be honest, I really had no reason for making this outside of the fact that I was bored, Rainbow Dash is an awesome pony, and the "My honor is Loyalty" joke was too good to pass up. The idea for this recolor was more or less spawned from an essay I read in a paper by Heinrich Himmler concerning (yes yes, it's all true) the importance of
friendship amongst soldiers of the SS.
For those that don't get it (figure that'd be the majority of you), this is a German Stahlhelm, the iconic helmet worn by the Wehrmacht and Waffen SS. The motto of the SS was "Meine Ehre heißt Treue" (lit. My honor is loyalty/fidelity"). So, I twisted the words around to a) make sense in context, and b) because "Loyalität" is more recognizable to non-German speakers. So, the joke here is that the helmet now reads "My
element is loyalty", and Rainbow Dash's cutiemark slightly resembles a sigrune, the stylized "S" of the Waffen-SS logo.
