Description
Well, today marks the 99th anniversary of the Titanic's sinking. So, I decided to take a humourous look at Wireless communication, and what it would have been like if they had used IRC instead. This comic also provides you with an example of what I'm like on IRC usually XD
I have included some of the actual messages as well as some of my own creation for comedic effect. Please not that I have taken liberties with this--the vessels spotted by the Californian/Titanic have not been confirmed to be either one. Of course, the Titanic and the Californian never made any such dialogue at the end of the chat.
Wireless Key (in order of Appearance):
MWL is the Californian
MGY is Titanic
DFT is the Frankfurt
MPA is the Carpathia (the ship that came first to the rescue)
DKF is Prinz Friedrich Wilhelm
CQD is the old version of SOS
DE <callsign> means "this is ..."
I got the messages and callsigns from the Titanic Radio Page: [link]
I mean no malice with this "cartoon". It is just for laughs, and I mourn the loss of the 1517 souls on Titanic.
EDIT: 02:05 is when Captain Smith gave the order"every man for himself". Phillips and Bride remain at their stations. The incorrect time is placed on the cartoon, and I placed this edit here to say that Phillips and Bride worked admirably, staying at their station until power was cut off.

I still get a kick out of this, over a year later. Good work.
